working on pictures

I am having a dreadful time with pictures. They seem to photograph great but then I put them online and they look gross. I am having trouble editing them so if the pic isn’t as pretty as you are used to just think of it as yummy but ugly – that is what I should have called my blog. :) Bear with me I am working on the problem, thanks for viewing my site anyway.
